Benchmark NSE Nifty index rose 22.8 points to 15846.85 amid buying in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Walpar Nutritions Ltd., Madhav Copper and AKG Exim Ltd., touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 30 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 19 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, HCL Tech, SBI Life, UltraTech Cem., Wipro and ICICI Bank were among top gainers, while Tata Motors, Tech Mahindra, L&T, Adani Ports SEZ and UPL traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 82.03 points up at 52919.24 at 10:29AM (IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Diversified, Metals – Ferrous, Tea / Coffee, Metals – Non Ferrous and Services sectors, while selling was visible in Sugar, Construction, Holding Company, Power and Shipping sectors.
