Shares of Divis Laboratories (up 2.0 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 1.35 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals (up 1.18 per cent), Alkem Laboratories (up 0.96 per cent) and Cipla (up 0.27 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Biocon (down 2.17 per cent), Cadila Healthcare (down 1.58 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma (down 1.13 per cent), Lupin (down 0.8 per cent) and Dr Reddys Laboratories (down 0.2 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.37 per cent up at 14652.55.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 31.6 points at 15824.45, while the BSE Sensex stood down 123.53 points at 52852.27.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 ended in the green, while 29 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Zomato Ltd., Vodafone Idea, SAIL and ITC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Jocil Ltd, Pashupati Cotspin, Premier Poly, Caplin Point and Orient Bell hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Walpar Nutritions Ltd., Rajvir Ind, PVP Ventures Ltd., Keerti Knowledge and AKG Exim Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
