Banks across many states will be closed for nine days in the month of August. These includes seven days which are weekends, i.e., second and fourth Saturdays and Sunday. Other than this, bank branches in various states will be closed due to Muharram and Janmashtami, and there are states-specific holidays as well.

- August 23, Monday: Sree Narayana Guru Jayanthi (holiday in Kerala)
- August 30, Monday: Janmashtami (Shravan Vad-8)/Krishna Jayanthi (holidays in Gujarat, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and so on)
- August 31, Tuesday: Sri Krishna Ashtami (holiday in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh)
