Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 1.65 per cent), Lupin (up 1.31 per cent), Divis Laboratories (up 0.75 per cent), Alkem Laboratories (up 0.47 per cent) and Cipla (up 0.32 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Biocon (down 0.06 per cent) and Dr Reddys Laboratories (down 0.03 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.71 per cent at 14577.1 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 82.25 points at 15967.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 326.94 points at 53277.57.
