NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 123.07 points up at 54492.84 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Super Fine Knitters (down 20.00 per cent), Nava Bharat Vent. (down 13.28 per cent), Tirupati Sarjan (down 9.99 per cent), Dhanalaxmi Roto (down 9.98 per cent) and ICL Organic Dairy (down 9.96 per cent) stood among the top losers in today’s trade.
In the Nifty pack, 24 stocks closed in the green, while 26 stocks ended in the red.
The index closed 35.8 points up at 16294.6.
On the BSE, Sabrimala Industries, Sterling Guar, Sparkling (India), Rahul Merc and Atreya Petro hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Atam Valves, Bharat Bhushan, Veeram Securities, Hikal Ltd and Fairchem Organics Ltd. touched their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade.
