Amara Raja Batteries (up 1.87 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (up 1.39 per cent), Bosch (up 0.79 per cent), Tata Motors (up 0.77 per cent) and Eicher Motors (up 0.73 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Balkrishna Industries (down 0.98 per cent), MRF (down 0.29 per cent) and Ashok Leyland (down 0.11 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was up 0.56 per cent at 10281.75 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 39.8 points at 16334.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 123.63 points at 54616.47.
