Shares of Bharat Forge (up 4.25 per cent), Ashok Leyland (up 1.64 per cent), Exide Industries (up 1.17 per cent), TVS Motor Company (up 0.91 per cent) and TIINDIA (up 0.66 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bajaj Auto (down 1.86 per cent), MRF (down 1.55 per cent), Balkrishna Industries (down 1.26 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra (down 0.97 per cent) and Bosch (down 0.92 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.18 per cent down at 10140.4.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 2.15 points at 16282.25, while the BSE Sensex stood down 28.73 points at 54525.93.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 ended in the green, while 26 closed in the red.

Shares of Ugro Capital, Hikal Ltd, Jubilant Ingrevia Ltd., Nelco Ltd and N K Industries hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Shrenik, AKG Exim Ltd., Future Market, Network People Services Technologies Ltd. and Chaman Lal Setia hit their fresh 52-week lows.
