Benchmark NSE Nifty index fell 53.5 points to 16226.6 amid selling in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Chaman Lal Setia, Shrenik, Andrew Yule, Viceroy Hotels and Future Market, touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 13 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 36 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, JSW Steel, Hindalco, Power Grid, Tata Steel and Grasim Inds. were among top gainers, while Sun Pharma, Tata Consumer, Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Finance and Kotak Bank traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 194.3 points down at 54360.36 at 10:04AM (IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Metals – Ferrous, Diversified, Metals – Non Ferrous, InvIT and Beverages – Alcoholic sectors, while selling was visible in Petrochemicals, Power, Rubber, Tea / Coffee and Packaging sectors.
