HDFC Bank (up 0.86 per cent), RBLBANK (up 0.85 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 0.58 per cent), IDFCBANK (up 0.54 per cent) and Axis Bank (up 0.3 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 0.74 per cent), Federal Bank (down 0.47 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank (down 0.28 per cent) and IndusInd Bank (down 0.2 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 0.33 per cent at 36055.3 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 88.4 points at 16452.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 286.54 points at 55130.52.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 36 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.
