Tata Consultancy (up 1.25 per cent), Infosys (up 0.89 per cent), Oracle Financial Services Software (up 0.87 per cent), MPhasis (up 0.81 per cent) and HCL Technologies (up 0.8 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Tech Mahindra (down 0.52 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was up 0.69 per cent at 32467.05 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 78.2 points at 16442.6, while the BSE Sensex was up 259.41 points at 55103.39.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.
