NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Monday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 145.29 points up at 55582.58 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Apex Frozen Foods (down 19.99 per cent), Gautam Exim (down 19.97 per cent), Super Fine Knitters (down 17.40 per cent), Sumuka Agro Ind. (down 14.94 per cent) and Garnet Const (down 14.52 per cent) stood among the top losers in today’s trade.
In the Nifty pack, 22 stocks closed in the green, while 28 stocks ended in the red.
The index closed 33.95 points up at 16563.05.
On the BSE, Windlas Biotech Ltd., Wagend Infra, Meglon InfraReal, Shangar Decor and Standard Shoe Sole hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Devyani International Ltd., Tanfac Ind, Deep Polymers, MRO-TEK Realty and SVP Global touched their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade.
