Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Tuesday’s session

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Tuesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 209.69 points up at 55792.27 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Franklin Leasing & F (down 18.67 per cent), CNI Research (down 17.98 per cent), Eastern Treads (down 17.89 per cent), Paragon Finance (down 14.87 per cent) and Transchem Ltd (down 10.40 per cent) stood among the top losers in today’s trade.

In the Nifty pack, 27 stocks closed in the green, while 23 stocks ended in the red.

The index closed 51.55 points up at 16614.6.

On the BSE, Wagend Infra, MRP Agro Ltd., AA Plus Tradelink Ltd., Grandeur Prods and Abans Enterprises hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Tanfac Ind, Lancer Container Lin, FIEM Industries, Apollo Hospital and Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Ltd. touched their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade.
