Shares of Cipla (up 1.85 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals (up 1.8 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories (up 0.84 per cent), Lupin (up 0.7 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 0.43 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Aurobindo Pharma (down 0.89 per cent), Cadila Healthcare (down 0.35 per cent), Alkem Laboratories (down 0.28 per cent) and Biocon (down 0.1 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.54 per cent up at 14041.25.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 51.55 points at 16614.6, while the BSE Sensex stood up 209.69 points at 55792.27.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 ended in the green, while 23 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Vedanta, Devyani International Ltd. and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of FIEM Industries, Apollo Hospital, Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Ltd., Confidence Petro and MRO-TEK Realty hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Akash Infra-Proj, Transwind Infrastruc, YES Bank, Ujjivan SFB and Future Market hit their fresh 52-week lows.
