Benchmark NSE Nifty index fell 129.05 points to 16439.8 amid selling in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Ujjivan SFB, CarTrade Tech Ltd., Vertoz Advertising, Radha Madhav and Windlas Biotech Ltd., touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 8 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 42 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, HUL, Asian Paints, HDFC, Infosys and Nestle India were among top gainers, while JSW Steel, Tata Steel, Hindalco, ONGC and UPL traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 314.32 points down at 55315.17 at 10:35AM (IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Diversified, Learning & Education, Defence, Telecommunications and Retail sectors, while selling was visible in IT – Hardware, Petrochemicals, Power, Metals – Non Ferrous and Industrial Consumables sectors.
