NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 191.4 points up at 56150.38 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Starlit Power Sys. (down 9.93 per cent), Star Delta Tran (down 8.49 per cent), Walchand People (down 8.31 per cent), Maestros Elec (down 7.99 per cent) and Sungold Capital (down 7.75 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.
In the Nifty pack, 32 stocks traded in the green, while 18 stocks traded in the red.
The Nifty index was trading 65.0 points up at 16689.6.
On the BSE, Maestros Elec, AA Plus Tradelink Ltd., Advance Lifestyles Ltd., Gopal Iron Stl and Ace Men Engg Works hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Atam Valves, TD Power Sys, Lancer Container Lin, Saksoft Ltd and Bajaj Elec. touched their fresh 52-week highs.
