TIINDIA (down 1.43 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (down 1.06 per cent), TVS Motor Company (down 1.03 per cent), Eicher Motors (down 0.84 per cent) and Bharat Forge (down 0.79 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was down 0.42 per cent at 9767.35 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 32.4 points at 16667.05, while the BSE Sensex was up 121.78 points at 56065.99.
