Aurobindo Pharma (up 1.16 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals (up 1.0 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories (up 0.23 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Dr Reddys Laboratories (down 0.71 per cent), Biocon (down 0.56 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (down 0.31 per cent), Cipla (down 0.26 per cent) and Lupin (down 0.26 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.13 per cent at 13812.45 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 38.35 points at 16673.0, while the BSE Sensex was up 146.45 points at 56090.66.
