NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Friday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 175.62 points up at 56124.72 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, RMC Switchgears (down 13.08 per cent), Atam Valves (down 10.44 per cent), Insilco Ltd (down 9.92 per cent), Suryavanshi Spin (down 9.82 per cent) and Misquita Engineering (down 9.76 per cent) stood among the top losers in today’s trade.
In the Nifty pack, 39 stocks closed in the green, while 11 stocks ended in the red.
The index closed 68.3 points up at 16705.2.
On the BSE, Niks Technology Ltd., Enbee Trade Fin, ETT Ltd, RJ Shah Co and Sabrimala Industries hit their fresh 52-week lows, while 8K Miles Soft, Gayatri Project, Tanfac Ind, Ganesh Housing and Laxmi Organic Industries Ltd. touched their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade.
