Shares of Coforge (up 0.88 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech (up 0.75 per cent) and HCL Technologies (up 0.04 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Tech Mahindra (down 1.81 per cent), Mindtree (down 1.17 per cent), Oracle Financial Services Software (down 1.04 per cent), MPhasis (down 1.03 per cent) and Infosys (down 0.63 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.58 per cent down at 34109.25.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 225.85 points at 16931.05, while the BSE Sensex stood up 765.04 points at 56889.76.
