TVS Motor Company (up 0.62 per cent), MRF (up 0.53 per cent), Bosch (up 0.31 per cent), Ashok Leyland (up 0.25 per cent) and Eicher Motors (up 0.24 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Tata Motors (down 1.63 per cent), TIINDIA (down 1.33 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra (down 0.95 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (down 0.71 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries (down 0.53 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was down 0.4 per cent at 9918.0 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 13.5 points at 16944.55, while the BSE Sensex was up 58.45 points at 56948.21.
