Shares of IDFCBANK (up 3.49 per cent), RBLBANK (up 3.29 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank (up 2.24 per cent), Punjab National Bank (up 1.91 per cent) and Axis Bank (up 1.58 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 0.4 per cent) and HDFC Bank (down 0.15 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.41 per cent up at 36574.3.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 55.95 points at 17076.25, while the BSE Sensex stood down 214.18 points at 57338.21.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 ended in the green, while 25 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, BHEL and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Zen Tech, RPG Life Sci, ABB Power, Indian Energy Exchg and Oberoi Realty hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Future Supply Chain, Rex Pipes and Cables Industries Ltd., Inventure Grwth and Network People Services Technologies Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
