NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Friday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 222.32 points up at 58074.86 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Baid Leasing (down 9.89 per cent), Ridings Consulting (down 9.87 per cent), Sudal Inds (down 9.73 per cent), Kapil Raj Finance (down 9.34 per cent) and Best Eastern (down 9.31 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.
In the Nifty pack, 34 stocks traded in the green, while 16 stocks traded in the red.
The Nifty index was trading 64.25 points up at 17298.4.
On the BSE, CHD Chemicals Ltd., Premier Capital Services Ltd., Madhav Infra Proj, Jet Infraventure and Shalimar Prod hit their fresh 52-week lows, while STEL Holdings, Thangamayil Jew, Zen Tech, Prestige Estate and L&T Tech touched their fresh 52-week highs.
