Benchmark NSE Nifty index rose 60.35 points to 17294.5 amid buying in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Nandani Creation, Yuken India and Inventure Grwth, touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 32 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 18 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Eicher Motors, ONGC, Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto and Indian Oil Corp. were among top gainers, while HDFC Life, HUL, SBI Life, Hindalco and Shree Cements traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 199.07 points up at 58051.61 at 10:24AM (IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Diversified, Media & Entertainment, Cables, Glass and Metals – Ferrous sectors, while selling was visible in IT – Hardware, Petrochemicals, Power, Agriculture/Horticulture/Livestock and Tea / Coffee sectors.
