Shares of Lupin (up 0.78 per cent), Divis Laboratories (up 0.1 per cent) and Cipla (up 0.03 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (down 1.83 per cent), Biocon (down 1.31 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals (down 1.15 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma (down 1.12 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories (down 0.99 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.65 per cent down at 14387.35.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 15.7 points at 17362.1, while the BSE Sensex stood down 17.43 points at 58279.48.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 ended in the green, while 31 closed in the red.

Shares of Rex Pipes and Cables Industries Ltd., Arman Financial, Neogen Chemicals, Bharat Gears and Zen Tech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Ujjivan Financial, HEC Infra Projects, Nandani Creation, Jalan Transolutions and Suvidhaa Infoserve Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
