Shares of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 0.98 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories (up 0.28 per cent), Cadila Healthcare (up 0.27 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals (up 0.19 per cent) and Cipla (up 0.14 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Divis Laboratories (down 2.4 per cent), Alkem Laboratories (down 0.95 per cent), Lupin (down 0.75 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma (down 0.41 per cent) and Biocon (down 0.36 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.26 per cent down at 14349.45.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 8.6 points at 17353.5, while the BSE Sensex stood down 29.22 points at 58250.26.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 ended in the green, while 23 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, IDFC First Bank, PNB and Trident Ltd were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Rex Pipes and Cables Industries Ltd., Alphageo , Goldiam Intnl, Kamdhenu and Arman Financial hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Nandani Creation, Jalan Transolutions, Inventure Grwth and Ujjivan Financial hit their fresh 52-week lows.
