Lupin (up 0.27 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories (up 0.22 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Aurobindo Pharma (down 1.03 per cent), Divis Laboratories (down 0.82 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories (down 0.66 per cent), Biocon (down 0.58 per cent) and Cadila Healthcare (down 0.5 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.41 per cent at 14271.5 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 79.95 points at 17289.3, while the BSE Sensex was down 207.8 points at 58097.27.
