NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 27.36 points up at 58750.56 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Superior Finlease (down 19.99 per cent), MAC Hotels (down 19.94 per cent), BPCL (down 10.16 per cent), Centenial Surg (down 8.88 per cent) and Shardul Sec (down 8.77 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.
In the Nifty pack, 23 stocks traded in the green, while 27 stocks traded in the red.
The Nifty index was trading 22.3 points up at 17541.75.
On the BSE, MAC Hotels, Aashka Hospitals Ltd., Naapbooks Ltd., RSC Intnl and Shalimar Prod hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Kaira Can, Ami Organics Ltd., TPL Plastech, Fineotex Chem and FairchemSpeciality touched their fresh 52-week highs.
