Balkrishna Industries (down 0.73 per cent), Bharat Forge (down 0.69 per cent), Ashok Leyland (down 0.47 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (down 0.33 per cent) and MRF (down 0.01 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was up 0.78 per cent at 10431.8 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 114.55 points at 17744.05, while the BSE Sensex was up 334.54 points at 59475.7.
