NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Monday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 65.59 points down at 58950.30 amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Gretex Corporate Services Ltd. (down 16.18 per cent), RMC Switchgears (down 15.40 per cent), Shangar Decor (down 14.57 per cent), R J Bio Tech Lt (down 14.29 per cent) and MRP Agro Ltd. (down 11.91 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.
In the Nifty pack, 17 stocks traded in the green, while 33 stocks traded in the red.
The Nifty index was trading 5.7 points down at 17579.45.
On the BSE, MPS Infotecnics, Autolite India, Jiya Eco Products Lt, Naapbooks Ltd. and Sai Baba Inv. Comrcl. hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Vasundhara Rasayans, HLE Glasscoat, Krebs Biochem, Kaira Can and Arihant Superst touched their fresh 52-week highs.
