Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra (up 2.77 per cent), Eicher Motors (up 2.59 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (up 1.54 per cent), Balkrishna Industries (up 0.29 per cent) and Bajaj Auto (up 0.28 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bharat Forge (down 1.9 per cent), Exide Industries (down 1.4 per cent), Ashok Leyland (down 1.13 per cent), Tata Motors (down 1.1 per cent) and TIINDIA (down 1.07 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.54 per cent up at 10429.05.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 30.25 points at 17853.2, while the BSE Sensex stood up 163.11 points at 60048.47.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 ended in the green, while 29 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Zee Ent., YES Bank, Bharti Airtel and Indus Towers were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Airo Lam, Indus Towers, NIIT, Chambal Fertilisers and Aptech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while DU Digital Technologies Ltd., CarTrade Tech Ltd., Inventure Grwth, Marine Electricals and Suvidhaa Infoserve Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
