Bosch(up 1.86 per cent), Eicher Motors(up 1.0 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 0.38 per cent) and Tata Motors(up 0.26 per cent) were among the top gainers.
TIINDIA(down 3.4 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(down 1.49 per cent), Bharat Forge(down 0.67 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries(down 0.65 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp(down 0.49 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was down 0.15 per cent at 10748.7 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 57.15 points at 17797.95, while the BSE Sensex was down 253.5 points at 59824.38.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.
