NEW DELHI: Several stocks rallied as much as 15% in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the red amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
Stocks that surged in excess of 15% included, Simmonds Marsh(19.92%), Agrimony Comdts.(19.5%), Prime Fresh(15.97%) and Captain Technocast(15.38%).
The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 254.33 points down at 59413.27, while the 50-share index, NSE closed 37.3 points down at 17711.3.
In the Nifty50 index, 28 stocks closed in the green, while 22 stocks ended in the red.
Meanwhile, stocks such as Simmonds Marsh, Akashdeep Metal, PTC India, Max Ventures Ind and Arvind SmartSpaces hit their fresh 52-week high, while MAC Hotels, Naapbooks Ltd., Arman Holdings, Purple Entertainment and Superior Finlease touched their new 52-week low in today’s trade.
