Shares of TIINDIA(up 1.05 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.75 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries(up 0.42 per cent), Tata Motors(up 0.29 per cent) and Exide Industries(up 0.28 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, MRF(down 1.78 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(down 1.61 per cent), Bharat Forge(down 1.55 per cent), Eicher Motors(down 1.38 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp(down 1.18 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.38 per cent down at 10655.5.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 37.3 points at 17711.3, while the BSE Sensex stood down 254.33 points at 59413.27.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 ended in the green, while 22 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, BHEL, Tata Power and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of PTC India, Max Ventures Ind, Godfrey Philips, Arvind SmartSpaces and 8K Miles Soft hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while CarTrade Tech Ltd., Suvidhaa Infoserve Ltd., Opto Circuits, Shrem InvIT and Transwind Infrastruc hit their fresh 52-week lows.
