Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.24 per cent), Biocon(up 0.74 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.51 per cent) and Lupin(up 0.33 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Cipla(down 0.79 per cent), Divis Laboratories(down 0.72 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(down 0.53 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(down 0.29 per cent) and Aurobindo Pharma(down 0.24 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.2 per cent at 14433.6 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 18.55 points at 17692.75, while the BSE Sensex was down 31.87 points at 59381.4.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.

Shares of Quadpro ITeS Ltd., Thejo Engg, JIK Industries, Ambika Cotton and IDBI Bank hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while BKM Industries, Opto Circuits, Inventure Grwth and Suvidhaa Infoserve Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
