Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra(up 3.09 per cent), TVS Motor Company(up 2.64 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries(up 2.27 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(up 0.55 per cent) and Bajaj Auto(up 0.52 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki(down 2.4 per cent), Ashok Leyland(down 2.28 per cent), Bharat Forge(down 1.34 per cent), TIINDIA(down 0.73 per cent) and Eicher Motors(down 0.64 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.01 per cent down at 10596.95.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 86.1 points at 17532.05, while the BSE Sensex stood down 360.78 points at 58765.58.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 ended in the green, while 25 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, GMR Infra, PNB and Tata Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Paras Defence and Space Technologies Ltd., Dynemic Product, Vinyl Chemicals, GTPL Hathway and Kamdhenu hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while BKM Industries, Opto Circuits, Metalyst Forgings, Krsnaa Diagnostics Ltd. and Suvidhaa Infoserve Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
