Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.86 per cent), Tata Motors(up 1.71 per cent), MRF(up 1.33 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 1.15 per cent) and Bosch(up 0.79 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Ashok Leyland(down 0.61 per cent), Eicher Motors(down 0.49 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries(down 0.21 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was up 0.67 per cent at 10668.35 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 177.35 points at 17709.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 643.78 points at 59409.36.
