Bandhan Bank(up 2.6 per cent), HDFC Bank(up 0.92 per cent), Axis Bank(up 0.57 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 0.37 per cent) and AU Small Finance Bank(up 0.31 per cent) were among the top gainers.
RBLBANK(down 2.46 per cent) and IndusInd Bank(down 1.06 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 0.41 per cent at 37894.2 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 19.75 points at 17802.55, while the BSE Sensex was down 54.44 points at 59690.44.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.
