Divis Laboratories(down 0.81 per cent) and Cipla(down 0.74 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.69 per cent at 14561.25 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 160.5 points at 17806.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 547.23 points at 59736.96.
