Orient Green Power Company(up 8.70%), Indowind Energy(up 4.70%), NTL(up 4.35%), Gujarat Industries Power(up 3.82%), Tata Power Company(up 3.44%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 2.35%), RTNPOWER(up 2.30%), Suzlon Energy(up 2.19%), DPSC(up 1.82%) and Reliance Power(up 1.77%) were among the top gainers.
PTC India(down 0.72%), Adani Transmissions(down 0.31%) and JSW Energy(down 0.30%) were among the top losers.
The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 161.0 points up at 17807.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 541.92 points at 59731.65 at around 10:35AM.
Tata Motors(up 9.3%), Titan Company Ltd(up 9.13%), Maruti Suzuki(up 3.83%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 3.7%), HCL Technologies(up 2.15%), Bajaj Auto(up 1.99%), Eicher Motors(up 1.93%), Hero MotoCorp(up 1.89%), Tech Mahindra(up 1.66%) and IndusInd Bank(up 1.65%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.99%), Coal India(down 0.99%), Divis Laboratories(down 0.75%), Cipla(down 0.71%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 0.62%), UPL Ltd(down 0.14%), Britannia Industries(down 0.13%) and Hindustan Unilever(down 0.09%) were trading in the red.
