Shares of Tata Motors(up 20.45 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 5.28 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 5.08 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 1.73 per cent) and TVS Motor Company(up 0.58 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki(down 2.75 per cent), Bosch(down 1.01 per cent), TIINDIA(down 0.28 per cent), Bajaj Auto(down 0.28 per cent) and Amara Raja Batteries(down 0.23 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 3.43 per cent up at 11870.0.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 169.8 points at 18161.75, while the BSE Sensex stood up 452.74 points at 60737.05.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 36 ended in the green, while 13 closed in the red.
Shares of Tata Power, BHEL, Tata Motors, Vodafone Idea and IDBI Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Dynamic Services & Security Ltd., Destiny Logistics & Infra Ltd., Tata Motors, NRB Industrial and Arvind Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Pasupati Acrylon, Nandani Creation, Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC Ltd., Inventure Grwth and Coastal Corp hit their fresh 52-week lows.
