Shares of Laurus(up 2.62 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(up 2.51 per cent), Divis Laboratories(up 2.35 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.61 per cent) and Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 0.1 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Lupin(down 1.75 per cent), Biocon(down 1.31 per cent), Alembic Pharmaceuticals(down 1.16 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(down 1.15 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 0.94 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.34 per cent up at 14728.65.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 176.8 points at 18338.55, while the BSE Sensex stood up 568.9 points at 61305.95.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 ended in the green, while 15 closed in the red.
Shares of PNB, Tata Power, Trident Ltd, Vodafone Idea and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Univastu India, Borosil L, KDDL Ltd, Manaksia Coated and Marshall Machines hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Destiny Logistics & Infra Ltd., Pasupati Acrylon, Inventure Grwth, Marine Electricals and Airo Lam hit their fresh 52-week lows.
