Benchmark NSE Nifty index rose 138.7 points to 18300.45 amid buying in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Destiny Logistics & Infra Ltd., Pasupati Acrylon, Marine Electricals, Euro India Fresh and Airo Lam, touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 38 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 12 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Wipro, Adani Ports SEZ, Grasim Inds., Tech Mahindra and L&T were among top gainers, while Tata Motors, Coal India Ltd, IndusInd Bank, Eicher Motors and Bajaj Finance traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 398.88 points up at 61135.93 at 11:16AM(IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Shipping, Metals – Non Ferrous, Metals – Ferrous, Retail and Term Lending Institutions sectors, while selling was visible in Learning & Education, Textiles, Agriculture/Horticulture/Livestock, Power and Services sectors.
