NEW DELHI: Several stocks rallied as much as 15% in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the red amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
Stocks that surged in excess of 15% included, Balurghat Tech(20.0%), Shoppers Stop(20.0%), Arihant Found(19.92%), Vishwaraj Sugar(19.82%), RTCL Ltd(15.89%) and IRB Infra Dev.(15.45%).
The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 336.46 points down at 60923.5, while the 50-share index, NSE closed 88.5 points down at 18178.1.
In the Nifty50 index, 19 stocks closed in the green, while 31 stocks ended in the red.
Meanwhile, stocks such as Shoppers Stop, Arihant Found, Vishwaraj Sugar, IRB Infra Dev. and Jindal Worldwide hit their fresh 52-week high, while Texel Ind(PP), Ace Men Engg Works, Nutech Global, Advance Lifestyles Ltd. and SREI Infra Fin touched their new 52-week low in today’s trade.
