Shares of ICICI Bank(up 10.85 per cent), Axis Bank(up 3.48 per cent), RBLBANK(up 2.22 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 2.16 per cent) and State Bank of India(up 0.71 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bandhan Bank(down 3.85 per cent), IndusInd Bank(down 1.56 per cent), HDFC Bank(down 1.41 per cent), Federal Bank(down 1.35 per cent) and IDFCBANK(down 1.3 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 2.15 per cent up at 41192.4.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 10.5 points at 18125.4, while the BSE Sensex stood up 145.43 points at 60967.05.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 12 ended in the green, while 37 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, PNB, Bank of Baroda and ICICI Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of ICICI Bank, Arihant Found, MRPL, Shoppers Stop and KEC Int. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Airo Lam, Huhtamaki PPL, Synergy Green Ind, Suvidhaa Infoserve Ltd. and Generic Engg hit their fresh 52-week lows.
