NTL(down 4.55%), NHPC(down 2.78%), ADANIGREEN(down 1.87%), Karma Energy(down 1.82%), DPSC(down 1.54%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.17%), JSW Energy(down 1.10%), Jyoti Structures(down 0.83%), Adani Transmissions(down 0.80%) and KEC International(down 0.67%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 143.0 points up at 18268.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 383.21 points at 61350.26.
Tata Motors(up 5.99%), Tata Steel(up 3.89%), SBI Life(up 3.75%), Titan Company Ltd(up 3.18%), JSW Steel(up 2.98%), Nestle India(up 2.79%), Bajaj Finance(up 2.73%), Hindalco Industries(up 2.7%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 2.62%) and UPL Ltd(up 2.58%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, IndusInd Bank(down 1.94%), ICICI Bank(down 1.46%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.17%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.77%), NTPC(down 0.49%), Axis Bank(down 0.38%), Tata Consultancy(down 0.3%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.29%), HDFC Bank(down 0.26%) and Infosys(down 0.23%) closed in the red.
