Benchmark NSE Nifty index rose 120.6 points to 18246.0 amid buying in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as D K Enterprises Global Ltd., SREI Infra Fin, Suvidhaa Infoserve Ltd., JMT Auto and Inventure Grwth, touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 44 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 6 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Tech Mahindra, Tata Motors, UPL, Bajaj Finance and Tata Steel were among top gainers, while ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Power Grid, HUL and Kotak Bank traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 346.88 points up at 61313.93 at 10:09AM(IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Rubber, Retail, Tourism & Hospitality, Chemicals and Cables sectors, while selling was visible in Miscellaneous, Learning & Education, Services, Telecommunications and Power sectors.
