TIINDIA(up 0.89 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(up 0.35 per cent), Exide Industries(up 0.31 per cent), Bharat Forge(up 0.19 per cent) and Amara Raja Batteries(up 0.19 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Tata Motors(down 1.43 per cent), Eicher Motors(down 0.47 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.35 per cent), MRF(down 0.28 per cent) and Bajaj Auto(down 0.23 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was down 0.33 per cent at 11415.0 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 17.15 points at 18285.55, while the BSE Sensex was up 33.59 points at 61383.85.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.
