Divis Laboratories(up 2.46 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.79 per cent), Biocon(up 1.27 per cent), Cipla(up 1.12 per cent) and Lupin(up 1.1 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Torrent Pharmaceuticals(down 2.29 per cent) and Natco Pharma(down 0.44 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 1.13 per cent at 14128.7 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 35.65 points at 18304.05, while the BSE Sensex was up 97.16 points at 61447.42.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.
