Euro India Fresh Foods(up 5.00%), Heritage Foods(up 4.08%), Varun Beverages(up 3.15%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(up 1.67%), Parag Milk(up 1.63%), P & G Hygiene(up 1.62%), Jyothy Labs(up 1.52%), Dodla Dairy(up 1.17%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 0.82%) and Marico(up 0.73%) stood among the top gainers.
Godrej Consumer Products(down 2.86%), Zydus Wellness(down 2.80%), ADF Foods(down 2.74%), Vadilal Industries(down 2.62%), Umang Dairies(down 1.79%), DFM Foods(down 1.51%), Hind.Foods(down 1.44%), Gillette India(down 0.73%), Dabur India(down 0.65%) and Tasty Bite Eatables(down 0.63%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 185.6 points down at 17671.65, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 677.77 points at 59306.93.
UltraTech Cement(up 2.54%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.95%), Shree Cement(up 1.57%), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.53%), Cipla(up 1.49%), UPL Ltd(up 1.41%), Tata Steel(up 1.26%), Grasim Industries(up 1.1%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 0.71%) and Divis Laboratories(up 0.57%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Tech Mahindra(down 3.62%), NTPC(down 3.42%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 3.21%), IndusInd Bank(down 3.04%), Larsen & Toubro(down 2.62%), Reliance Industries(down 2.4%), Axis Bank(down 2.16%), Infosys(down 2.12%), HDFC(down 1.93%) and Hindalco Industries(down 1.92%) closed in the red.
