Alkem Laboratories(up 2.2 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.26 per cent), Divis Laboratories(up 1.03 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 0.9 per cent) and Abbott India(up 0.73 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Laurus(down 3.1 per cent), Alembic Pharmaceuticals(down 1.15 per cent), Natco Pharma(down 1.0 per cent), Strides Pharma Science(down 0.6 per cent) and Aurobindo Pharma(down 0.59 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.26 per cent at 13916.0 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 67.05 points at 17738.7, while the BSE Sensex was up 212.65 points at 59519.58.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 36 were trading in the green, while 14 were in the red.
